Schiers Thanksgiving 2010

Uncle Larry Carving the Turkey!

Feast of all Feast's

Blake and Qydian Spilling the Beans!

Please pass the Turkey!
It was a smaller crowd than usual this year for Thanksgiving. But, none the less we always know how to have a great time. Mike and I have not been 100% due to our recent surgeries and really greatly appreciated all the help from Uncle Larry and Aunt Cathy during this Thanksgiving weekend. There was a lot of snow to shovel and Christmas Lights that needed hanging, and they were there to do it all for us! We have much to be thankful for, but most of all we are greatfull for our family this time of year!

Welcome Home Elder Snyder

Meet Big Tyler and Little Tyler, my nephew and great nephew. Elder Tyler Snyder returned home from the Spokane Washington Mission on November 1st. He and his family where able to come up from St. George to attend Uncle Glades funeral. While at the cememtary, little Tyler wouldn't let big Tyler out of his sight. He was convinced that big Tyler was himself when he grows up! Leave it up to a three year old to imagine this one!

Military Honors for a Great Man

Uncle Glade recieved Military Honors for serving in the Korean War at his Funeral on Friday, the 12th of  November. It was a beautiful crisp, clear Autumn day, a very special service for a very special Uncle. We'll miss you dearly, Uncle Tator!

Remembering Glade J. Steiner

My Uncle Glade passed away just a little more than 24 hours ago, just a few weeks shy of what would have been his 80th birthday. He will greatly be missed. All the fond memories of horse races, wheelbarrow races, belly blows, and Glade's famous chocolates for our birthday's. If you have memories of Steiner Construction or Jack and Jill Bowling Lanes in American Fork, UT, you probably have met my Uncle Glade. He was known as a Bowling Ace in his younger years, and remained a bachelor until the age of 49, when he met the love of his life, Aunt Jan. They've been able to share 31 years together. He's the best Uncle a niece could ever ask for, I'm full of memories and emotions tonight! I'll always love you and miss you Uncle Tater! You were the best of the best!

High School Girlfriends Reunion

Cyndie Stephens, Trina Boley, Linda Schiers
 Ilene Davies & Ginny Stolworthy
Four of my good High School friends, and I got together this year for a best  "girlfriends" reunion. First time in 31 years that all five of us have been able to get together. We have all remained friends, but never had the good fortune to all meet at the same time. Infact, this could really be called a Kindergarten Class Reunion. Yes, all five of us were in Ms. Makin's Kindergarten Class of 1966 at Forbes Elementary in American Fork, UT

"Los Tres Brujas"

The girls and I have made it a tradition to celebrate our Fall Birthday's by going out of town and having just a Girls Night Out! For two years we have gone to Gardner Village in West Jordan and have had fun with all the festivities there. This year we dressed up as "The Three Witches" and went to the Witch-A-Palooza dinner show Saturday night. We had the best time, and laughed until our cheeks and stomachs hurt! The play is about Weston, a Warlock, who is in search of his true love. It's wicked fun, charming, and hilarious! And we can't wait until next year to do it all over again!

Jessica is due to have her first baby on November 17th. We are so excited for her and Jay to bring this expected little one into thier family. We drove to Idaho Falls to attend a family BBQ and Baby Shower for Jess and Jay. Just look at Papa Schiers cuddling baby Kiera Jo, what a proud Grandpa! This will be our 6th Grandchild between the two of us and our seven children. Jared and Cindy's little Kiera Jo also attended the baby shower as well, she is getting so big, and is now keeping her eyes open when you talk to her!

Hailey, Lexi, and Gracie - Cousins Enjoying the Day Together!

My Dad, 81 years old, even participated in the Walk!

Yes, the Babies in Strollers Went Right Along With Us!
What a great day we had in behalf of the Alzhiemer's Memory Walk 2010, held at Murray High School in Salt Lake City on Saturday, September 18th. "Pat's Party" representing the Dale Steiner Family walked in Memory of Her, Our Mother, Grandmother, and Wife to Dale. Mom (Pat) passed away last August, and this was our way of honoring her memory and her fight against this chronic debilitating disease of Alzhiemer's. We as a family raised $1500.00 dollars towards Alzhiemer's Research. Thanks goes mostly to the family members in Utah County for their fundraising effort's and to my Niece's for all the hard work they put into this event. What a great time we had, and for a great cause! We miss you ton's Mom, (Grandma Pat), But Oh, what a Party we had for You!

Missing You, Mom!

Our family is gearing up for the Alzhiemer's Walk in Salt Lake to help raise awareness and money for Research and a Cure for Alzhiemer's. The walk-a-thon just so happens this year to fall on my own Mother's Birthday, the 18th of September. We are walking in behalf of her. It has been one year since we lost my Mother to chronic physical alements and the debilitating disease of Alzhiemer's. My youngest and only son, Elder Zachary Jensen, was born on my mothers birthday 20 years ago. He will be participating in this walk as well, even though he is currently serving an LDS Mission in Romania. He mentioned to me in his latest e-mail that he will be walking several miles that day as well, for "Pat's Party". He said he wouldn't think of missing out on this opportunity . We miss you mom!

Zach was greeted in Romania by President and Sister Lundberg. They have been serving as the Romania, Bucharest Mission President for about a year and a half. They are from Logan, UT. This picture was taken in one of the many beautiful parks in Bucharest, this one so happens to be Cismigiu Park where President Russell M. Nelson dedicated the land of Romania for missionary work. The prayer was delivered on February 9, 1990 and is ironically the year Zach was born.
